Over the past few weeks, I was reminded of a lesson that applies far beyond technology. We often assume progress comes from doing more. More data. More leads. More activity. More automation. More messages. But when we examined thousands of observations, signals, prospects, and decisions, the biggest improvement came from learning what to ignore. Not every signal matters. Not every company is a prospect. Not every opportunity deserves attention. Not every action should be automated. The value wasn't in increasing activity. The value was in increasing judgment. A useful question for any business, team, or technology effort: Are we getting better at doing more, or getting better at deciding what not to do? The second is usually harder. It's also where most of the leverage lives.
